Meeting Schedule: Quarterly

Charge: Serve as advocates of the University at Buffalo and assist with the deliberate generation of financial resources in support of university goals and initiatives.

Staff Support: Satish K. Tripathi, Provost, Kathryn R. Costello, Vice President for Development

Responsibilities

1. Understand and support the increasing and critical role of private support in public life, education, and specifically in UB's future.

2. Actively participate in the development process. Includes but is not limited to: identifying prospects from personal and professional contacts, hosting small groups of potential donors, visiting with prospective donors to discuss and advocate on behalf of the University at Buffalo, and assisting the University in forming collaborations, affiliations and partnerships.

3. Provide strong philanthropic leadership through personal giving at a generous level, setting goals for Foundation member giving, influencing philanthropic expectations for other key UB volunteer boards (i.e. UB Council, UB Alumni Association, Dean's Advisory Councils, etc.), and actively engaging in solicitation.

4. Know and advise on the fund-raising initiatives and goals established by the University at the direction of the President.

5. Assist in assessing feasibility of fund-raising projects and campaign components brought forward by University at Buffalo administration.
